Our Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Licence course is a Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) program designed with flexibility in mind. We offer training sessions in the early mornings and afternoons, allowing you to fit your lessons around your schedule with ease.

Our purpose-built training facility is equipped for all types of heavy vehicle training—including MR licences. We also offer mobile training options, meaning we can come to your business for group driver training.
An MR (Medium Rigid) licence allows you to drive any rigid vehicle with two axles, such as trucks and buses. You’re also permitted to tow a trailer up to 9 tonnes GVM, provided the total combination remains within GCM limits. This includes certain special purpose vehicles (e.g., tractors, bob-tail prime movers) with a GVM of under 15 tonnes.
An MR (Medium Rigid) vehicle includes:
Trucks and buses with a GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) of more than 8 tonnes and 2 axles
Trailers with a maximum GVM of 9 tonnes
Have held a Class C licence (not a learner licence) for at least 1 year
Pass the Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test
Pass an Eyesight Test
Pass a TMR Heavy Vehicle Driving Test
• Queensland driver’s license
• Closed shoes
• Saturday Test Bookings are available
Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and avoid tailgating
Follow the speed limit and adjust your speed according the road conditions.
Use your turn signal before changing lane or turning and check your blind spots.
Wear your seat belt and make sure your passengers do the same
Avoid distractions such as using your phone, eating, drinking the while driving
Drive sober and drug-free and avoid driving when you are tired or drowsy
Practice defensive driving by being alert, cautiou and courteous
Know the local traffic laws and signs and follow them accordingly
